Client Brief:
As pioneers in the Delta-8 space, Cali Extrax embarked on launching Sunset Collective, a lifestyle and cannabis brand inspired by Southern California. Rooted in the essence of Los Angeles, Sunset Collective aims to seamlessly integrate into the lives of its customers, mirroring their lifestyle from product use to clothing choices.
Central to the approach was crafting a brand identity that transcends the cannabis industry stereotype, ensuring Sunset Collective is recognized not just as a cannabis brand, but as a natural extension of the customers' daily experiences.
Applied Design Solution:
Taking inspiration from iconic institutions across Los Angeles, Sunset Collective speaks the city's language. The main wordmark borrows its base typeface from the numerous traffic signs dotting the cityscape, instantly resonating with its loyal, local clientele.
Drawing from the city's palette, Sunset Collective incorporates colors like the iconic green of the Beverly Hills Hotel walls, the warm yellow and orange hues of a Venice Beach sunset, and the clear blue of the ever-cloudless sky. In essence, the brand becomes a reflection of Los Angeles itself.
The logo achieves balance through a custom “O” transformed into a sunset motif, complemented by a robust standalone logomark adaptable for packaging or backgrounds.
